These Herb and Red Wine Mushrooms are the perfect side dish for steak or any type of grilled or baked protein. This also makes a great brunch item.

1 package of baby bella or cremini mushrooms, cleaned well and kept whole
2 tbsp olive oil
¼ cup flat leaf parsley, finely chopped
¼ cup dry red wine
1 tbsp finely chopped shallot
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
¼ tsp dried marjoram
¼ tsp salt
¼ tsp black pepper

Heat olive oil in a large pot. Add cleaned whole mushrooms and cook over medium heat for 4 minutes, stirring often. Add shallot and cook for another 2 minutes, until they become translucent. Season with salt, marjoram and black pepper.

Add red wine and Worcestershire sauce to pot and deglaze. Stir well. Reduce heat to low, add parsley, and allow mushrooms to cook for another 2-3 minutes, or until tender.

Remove from heat and serve with your favorite main course. These can also be served alongside eggs.
